im soz, me mates dad will only bring one snail to england, i asked him if he could bring a large amount, but he said "it is far too much money" (in chinese) so i am only allowed 1. if it ever breeds with my normal fulica's and has any white babies, i would be willing to sell some (and keep some for my self of course) lol Josh

I agree - I tried that the search engine approach. I think people who already have snail import connections or relatives abroad would be a key part in pulling it off if at all. Good luck everyone, twould be fantastic if it happens. Could we cover the shipping costs felix was quoted between people buying the snails do you think if we could get the with £120.00 10-15 snails mentioned that would mean people forking out roughly £10 up front - is that too much for anyone? Though that is just basic shippping and with the 50 minimum order.......... I have the connection with the snail trade in China, but those people are not thinking straight like what we are thinking. They tend to have everything cheap (the snails they quoted me seem reasonable) but they don't know much about the shipping cost and usually overly charged. I have asked one of my relatives who is working in China to see if he can find a better shipping way to do the deal, my relative is only working in China, but he should know pretty well about the right shipping cost. I don't want to do anything illegal to ship the snails to UK, so I need to find out all the procedure first.

Josh, maybe you could ask him for 2. Because they will probably have babies and then they will have babies and so on.

Guys can we please keep a tab on the number of short replies being left on topics like these. Try and keep your posts informative. Lots of two and three word replies makes the forum difficult to read and difficult to keep track of. I know its fun to chat and the forum needs to stay fun, but try and keep your replies relevant to the topic.

Take too long? So I take it the snails from Africa/Brazil come via teleport?

If you breed normal fulica x albino-fulica will come in the first generation only normal-looking ones BUT they can carry the albino-gen in them. If you breed then 2 of them or albino-mama with albino-son there is a chance for albino-bodied snailies. And if you then cross albino-bodied with albino-shelled (rodatzi) would result than albino-bodied and shelled fulicas in the second generation! ;D

The breeding of "allbino" margies has shown there may be more at play than one recessive gene. Of course it'd still be fantastic to try it out ;D

I'll hopefully be getting albino fulica soon, if I do I'll keep a few of them with my normal shell fulica hamillei in a seperate container, so maybe they will produce yellow shelled albino fulica. If I kept the other albino fulica's together seperate from other fulica, and they produced babies all the babies will also be albino wont they? since they're so established? Take too long? So I take it the snails from Africa/Brazil come via teleport? Snails from Africa and the America's can be in the UK in 2-3 days if theyre sent express mail, they may mean there isnt a airmail service available for some reason, and they could only send them surface mail? which would take around 4-6 weeks to arrive.

I dunno Kevin - definitely worth trying ;D It's something I might be tempted into trying next year when it's safe to send out snails again and I can get hold of some.
My next big breeding plan is to establish what Stella and Logan are and try to breed them. Even if they are "odd" fulica, like suspected, they're very different from any others and it would be nice to establish a line from them that are reliable, like your plans for the albinos.
