can they eat hay, should it be included in their diet and what nutritional value (if any) does it provide them.
Also if it should be fed, how so, just left dry or moistened slightly and does this attract more pests.

I would not feed my snails hay.

I've only had ONE snail that liked meadow hay (bought from Dusk), and he mostly ate the dried dandelions and daises. Kinda odd for a retic, but there you go. All the others turn their noses up at it, other retics, fulis, aspersas, cepaeas, eobania.

Grass is not really natural either when snails don't live in short grass. I once took out my snails and everyone eat everything else on grass but not grass itself.
