i have just recieved these snails today they have a purple columella any ideas what they are? sorry the pics arent good as you have probably guessed from the pics of my other snails my camera skills are very poor thanks in advance eric

i dont think they are there skin isnt black its more dark brownand there is no "v" on the tail

just wet them and one has a pink apex lasting 3 whorls and the other has a pink apex lasting 2 whorls

the bodies are very much like fulica, i don't think they are smithii, the shells are very different to mine which are about the same size. Two of my fulica have pink apex's too so that doesn't help. I still think they are likely to be fulica, but thats my opinion.

i know but i like the fulica ive got and these 2 look like twins like two small panthera i have they have identical stripes. And if these snails are fulica they are beautiful fulica, my oldest fulica used to have a nice shell but then it went horrible and now it has stopped growing

Eric, It may not be you, your camera may not have the close photo ability on. Or it may just be your camera anyway. On my camera, there is a little button somewhere that enables you to take close photos with better picture quality for that distance....

well try taking it from a small distance and then cropping them to size on your computer.

On most cameras when using macro mode you have to click once to get it to focus and then once again (for a little longer) to take a picture, otherwise they just come out unfocussed. Could that be it?
