Yes i know it isn't a snail, but its slimy too I've got one Limax maximus that i caught in the garden ( eating chicken feed). It has been in my aquarium for 2 days now. I just looked in the aquarium and there is a clump of red egg-like things under a leaf. I think they are eggs but maximus eggs should be white and transparent! So what can they be? Mutant eggs, somesort of excrement or is my maximus not a maximus but an other specie? Thank you,

Hi emperormaximus. Do you know what your limax has been eating? Specifically, is anything the same color as the clump you found?

He did eat a little bit of tomato, but not much. And i gave him cucumber. Could it be dung then that is colored red because of the tomato?

Snail and slug poop is the same color as whatever they have eaten, so I would first suspect something he ate. Sometimes the poop resembles a string of beads rather than a solid line. Eggs are usually in a cluster, not a linear string.

Limax species poop is more like clumps shape of rice/tablet etc. Slug eggs look like gel balls.
