Went to Doncaster show today and bought 3 of these lovely snails. The seller had them listed as Achatina SP? But they have a raised v on their tails, have a white/very pale grey apex and can't see their columella clear as they are quite small. It looks very slightly peach from what I can see. The apex looks more like a archachainta than an achatina ie not as pointed. Any help in Id'ing these would be great. Cheers Jo

Adsolutely gorgeous I feel that it's an Archachatina species, and I've seen one similar on Polyped's site. Though they may be similar that doesn't mean they're the same species, but likely that someone bought your's from Polyped and then sold it on to you at the show perhaps? I'll go take a look at Polyped's snails..... edit.... yes there's two yellow shelled Archachatina on his thread petsnails.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=snailpictures&action=display&thread=9828 , could it be either of those?

Well, at least when they get bigger it should be easier especially if they lay as there's a huge difference between Achatina and Archachatina eggs. Time will tell. But they are really lovely little critters. Wish I'd bought the 2 that were left.
;D

How many did you buy? Really really impressed with your little yellow friend!, whatever it is!
