I also use the jars of baby food, mostly veg. varieties, heat it up in the microwave and then stir in the gelatine!! Set it in the fridge. You can add fish flake or anything else. Val Uh, snails don't eat cooked food...? ...

Brunni, you just reminded me of those guys who think they're fat and make themselves really skinny. Then with the snails, I thought of preamble where they suddenly get too small for their shell. O.O

I forgot to say, the spots on shell are probably because of lack of calcium. Do you have cuttlefish in her tank?

Did you feed her rice or something in that section? If you did, you must wait for it to pass through.

Most snails die after they lay their eggs. I am so sorry =( But don't give up hope; you may just have a fatal infection. Doesn't sound too good, I know, but if you try enough, you can get rid of it. Even then, though, the chances are dull. Here, have a link of where I found this out. www.petsnails.co.uk/problems/retracted.html#startYour snail may have preamble. Or he is dying. I'm sorry I could not be much help, but I'm new to owning snails after my friend threw a snail onto my trampoline. Now I have to thank them, as it was a sinistral =P On topic again. Try putting lukewarm water into its shell for ten seconds, then pouring it out. It usually comes out of its shell to try and breathe. Then you can put it on top of some cuttlefish, as it rasps it. Also, try bathing your snail in green tea. It's a myth, but it's desperate measures for this stuff. A reason your snail may be ill is that you've cleaned his tank too much. Of course, it might not be sick. If you try this and somehow drown your pet, OH DEAR GOD I AM SO SORRY. These have not been tested by me. EDIT: Two years later, I feel like a complete idiot when reading what I've written. Damn. Sorry about past me, I was a bit of an idiot...

imageshack.us/photo/my-images/28/20111207184408.jpg/Baffbot is a sinistral snail. He is very rare. He is my first snail EVER. He is a regular Australian garden snail. If you don't know what "sinistral", or "dextral," means, Think of it like this: Sinistral. Being a left-handed is not usual, and a lot of people think of it as a bad thing, so "Sin," in "Sinistral,"... Get it? Sins are bad things... (I'm not religious, I just think of it like that =P) As you can see in the picture, he is left handed. Uh, shelled? But this is useful in the wild; it means most predators can't eat him. As crabs are right-handed, for them it's like you using a right-handed can-opener in your left hand. Snakes can't eat him either. BUT, unfortunately, as this is not the wild, the only thing that's different about him is that he cannot BREED. I WANTED TO BREED IT! I'll start using "it" as it's a hermaphrodite. Every now and again I get silly and say "Good hermaphrodite! Good hermaphrodite!" As I have taught it to carry things in its mouth and it's so cute! *Squee* Unfortunately, it usually just eats it -.- Anyway, the last thing I ask is a question: Where can I buy a sinistral garden snail? Ebay isn't allowed to sell living animals, and sinistral snails can only PROPERLY mate with its own kind. EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT I FAILED: It's dextral.
