I recently transformed a hexagonal aquarium into a terrarium for landsnails. My next project is a large diplay cabinet/cupboard that I'll transform into a snailarium (actually, I got three of them, for free, secondhand). I already have an ExoTerra. I like to see my snails without intruding on them, so glass is the best material. My snailariums are a mix of mini-gardens and rain forest wilderness. If you already have a garden outside, you'd probably make it a little simpler I like to do things myself, although I'm not really a handyman. This is my most recent completed project: I spent a lot of time to get that door work, believe me! But I'm quite happy with the result Before I start my new project, I'd like to gather some inspiration. Most of my inspiration comes from vivariums for reptiles or frogs.

Not a handyman? You had me fooled! That's some impressive work there!

Thanks! When I cut the glass, I didn't get it straight (including the simple piece of glas in the door). The hinges wouldn't sit. It took me a month or so (mostly brain work to figure out simple solutions) to finish it. I had to fill all the un-straight lines with silicone (a LOT of it). Eventually it worked. So I guess the lesson is not to give up I really hope I can do my next project without cutting glass! Here is the cabinet: It mesures 60(l)x25(d)x72(h)cm. It looks smaller in the picture, and it was really difficult to transport three of them through the city by foot and bus (got a helpng hand from a friend, but I wouldn't do it again)

Thank you! Yes, the door is made from a picture frame with two part screen and one part glass in it. I tried to make something myself, but gave up when I failed to get the angles right
