Well thanks to Teresa from lovebugglys, my rug rats have some new slimmers to add to there snail family. All the new slimmers arrived active and healthy, they all tucked in to a good feed of sweet potatoes, cabbage, apple and carrot once they arrived. Then all crashed out for the rest of the day on top of the food. Ive attached a photo of some of the larger new slimmers after they had eaten and relaxing on there food in there new tank. I'm awaiting for another heat mat to arrive as the oldest heat mat finally died, so they are all in one tank for a few days until it does. I've also attached a few of photos of some of our other snails, I've been trying out various mixes of snail mash to find something that they really like. This latest one seems to have been a hit as I think the photo's say. By the time they had finished eating most of it and wearing some they ended up back in a warm bath again to clean them up much to the delight of the snails and rug rats. Zorst Some of the New Slimmers. Trying out the new Snail mash.

Thanks Cashell,
They really do seem to be settling in well and the really small baby snails who I didn't photos are busily slimeing everywhere and eating everything, as are the bigger one's. Can't wait for the new heat mat to arrive so these little guys get there own tank as it'll make it all a bit easier to keep an eye on them lol.
The main thing is all in all the rug rats and the slimmers are very happy.

what a happy family I was trying to understand what is the difference between regular snails and rug rats? "Rug rats" is a slang term meaning "young children"

Yes the Rug rat term = my 2 young daughters the eldest of which is absolutely Snail crazy and got me into Snails. As to what the Snails are eating its a snail mix that I made up and yeah they sure seem to like it. They eat better than I do lol. Zorst

Ahh saying that the eldest rug rat is making a costume for a fancy dress comp at school n guess what its a SNAIL! lol. Can't wait to see what it looks like.
Yes they eat far more varieties of organic veg than we do, I can't grow sweet potatoes here or some of the other foods that they love. But maybe if I can figure out a way of heating my poly tunnel. Um-mm! Now that's got me thinking. Ways to heat poly tunnels all year around just think what I could grow or even better I could keep loads of snails in there. GRIN!!!! (Joke)

you have to post a photo of the costume, such a cute idea! To be true I'm looking to rend an apartment that has a large balcony so I can have space to grow some herbs and veg to feed me and the snails too Today they ate a lot of carrot and cuttlebone...it's so funny when their insides turn orange. I'm posting this picture here I don't mean to hijack your thread, if it's against the rules I'll take it off. Always learning new stuff here...are you talking about a large poly tunnel? or a small one? do you have to heat it a lot? Just imagine the snails you could keep and they could be big big big ahahha The weather here in Lisbon is never that cold although it's been raining a lot...
