I do worry sometimes how stressful life is for snails and whether my hand in their terrarium indeed appears as a monstrous threat. I have a small wild population of 5mm long snails below the window of the apartment I'm moving out of. They retract into their little shells the very moment I as much as look at them, and if they're climbing on grass, they jump down to the ground so they can't be found. Such tiny ones must have many enemies, so being ready and able to hide is a crucial skill. Poor things.

You have nothing to worry about in terms of creature naming. Honestly, it's very likely I'd name all my snails Snail if it was just me ever seeing them - never in my life have I spontaneously named even my toys or anything with human-like names, I've only done it when told to. I do in fact currently have many Snails, lol, plus a few that have such strikingly different features that it's just easier to talk about them if I call them things like "Big Eyes". The only one with a more sensible name ("Lemon") was named by my boyfriend I guess it describes my situation well that I'm thinking how funny it would be if I had an Arianta called Leena Lehtolainen, but for the life of me I can't decide who should have that name. This is more or less exactly what I've always done. I got a white dove when I was 4 and named him Birdy (who lived to be 23 years old, btw), and I had an iguana named Iggy, just as two examples. Currently, all of my snails are named Snail. I have so many that I can't tell them apart. I had one fulica named Pudding when he was younger, but since he's grown, I can't tell which one he is anymore! If a snail has a distinct feature, though, I'll usually call him "-- Snail". For example, right now I have a Helix aspersa with tegaderm over a shell break. I call him Tegaderm Snail. Besides, Snail is such a charming name, as perfect and pleasant as the animal itself. To me, they need no further naming.

Haha, I had a small Arianta called Little Snail, but then he had a growth spurt and some babies hatched, so erm, I guess he's another Snail now.
Just last summer I realised that a very pretty doll I've had since early childhood, and have been taking with me wherever I live, never had any other name but "Pretty doll". Actually I wouln't have noticed if someone hadn't asked what the doll is called. Slightly awkward...

Oh my, your Reticulas are so pretty! Thankfully I have already decided to get a few for myself And I wouldn't worry about the naming, the names you have given are awesome! Extra credits for Voldemort. I think I have heard/read that someone named his/her snail Soini, probably at herppi.fi (?) and was concidering that name for a while since a run out of name option with a couple of my newborns. All the snail I've ever had are called Lima, Mömmö, Tahma, Ihra, Sylki, Kuola, Räkä, Lötkö, Klimppi, Klöntti (Slime, Ooze, Sticky, Lard, Salvia, Drool, Snot, Something big and lazy, Lump & Clump). But i might also go with Vauhti, Spiidi & Turbo (Fasty, Speedy & Turbo).

I'm sooooooo tempted to buy a pair of snails and name them Hank & Frank. I've been having these names just kinda floating around in my head for a while now but haven't got anything to name

Most of them get named things like Hamster Girl or Hamster Boy, but occasionally he names one Orange Girl or Good Boy or such. His latest hamster escaped from the carrier box on the way home and got into the car. He thought he lost the hamster and was really sad, but the next day he found that the hamster had made a hamster-sized tunnel through the passenger seat, and had made a nest of receipts behind the car stereo, where he chewed up a bunch of wires. (Luckily he didn't get hurt, and today he's a healthy and happy hamster!) His name is Car Boy, although sometimes he's known as Stripey Boy.

So I have this old camera which sometimes ends up editing the photos by itself after they've been taken. Today I decided to take some pics of my retic and some of them turned out quite disturbing... Like this one: But I have some very nice ones as well so here we go.

well that's scary! weird thing for a camera to do. Then again back when i was using film cameras if i didn't wind the film on i'ld end up with ghostly overlaid images which could be really creepy!

In this case his shell is just full of soup Yeah, I remember the time we used film cameras. Me and my brother would always mess with the films so all the images would look terrible. It was just our thing. We did the same thing with VHS's. While our mom was recording something from the tv with them, we would always change the channel so it would be some boring news or something like that.

Buuuuut, here's some pics of my other snails :3 Glowy snail in a parasite check ^^' They were "cuddling" for a good two hours or so... Maybe they were just eating like that or maybe they had something else in mind Here's when they were just innocently hugging :3 "Then you have nuffing. Wits are useless 'ere. Everything is downside up." Props to you if ya know where that's from And here's the snailies' Wonderland
