I don't think we will ever understand snails...

Here again, munching on their sweet potato like the cute little contortionists they are! This white dahlia makes a most refined snail dish. They only eat white ones. Colored dahlias are snail yuk!

Is that zero-banded, yellow shell snail a cepaea hortensis? The lip looks white, but I can't really tell if it's hard or not.

Every time I think I have a hortensis it just grows a brown lip within 2 weeks. I guess we'll see!

Ebony and Sheldon got amorous a couple of days ago and poor Sheldon took a love dart to the face. The little fellow has been hiding in his shell since! Maybe he is writing poems.
Meanwhile, some other snailie dug up a little chamber and laid about 20 eggs. I don't recall seeing a preggo snail! I wonder where the eggs are stowed away in their bodies before being laid. The eggs are so white and pearly, it's like a little miracle of life.

They are so fragile looking, but so pretty and precious.

The yellow morph now has a mature, curled up, and distinct WHITE bad, so... it looks like a hortensis! He may be the only hortensis in the tank... I hope he doesn't get lonely!

They are soooo beautiful. If you find them in your garden - where do you live?

The pink ones are amazing, as are the rest of the little squishers! You sure are lucky to have beautiful little guys like that just outside your door (no offense to my snail, who is equally as beautiful, sorry Muffy)!

All your snails are so cute! I like Dark Vader's name.

Now, I am a Star Wars geek, so I must point this out. Darth Vader's name is not Dark Vader it is Darth Vader. However I am not sure if you named your snail that on purpose to be different, or it was a mistake.
