I really don't think this is much of a problem in one of my tanks, as there was an extravagant amount of mating going on in this tanks, so I am almost 100% sure its because they are going to be laying eggs. On the other hand, I have a tank with 3 smallish Helix Aspersa, and today I was going to get them so I could give them their fish flakes, but then I noticed one of them was burying itself and I assume another one was fully buried. there was only one snail who was not buried. These snails have never been seen mating though, but I also know that the temp. is not all that cool, i just had them outside for around 2 hours yesterday. I'm not sure what to do if they did go into their "hibernation" can I have some help?

What kind of snails are burying themselves? This could be completely normal.

Almost all snail species will dig if you offer them soil. If they don't, then they're probably weird...

Helix aspersa can be pretty prolific breeders, so if they're native in your area you may have to release or destroy the eggs.

I also have a ton of friends who would love snails (yeee! I started a "thing at school) I don't know what to do with them all but I don't have the heart to put them in the wild... Then again, I've never had babies before and because it's my snails first clutch, I'll more than likely keep them

So I guess we can assume that it's a pouty weirdo then!

My Cepaea dug himself in to lay eggs. So maybe check the spot where he was.
