Hi there,
I have just ordered a baby Achatina Fulica Jadatzi Snail, plus the starter kit to go with it! Thank you Snails 4 You!
It's arriving on Wednesday, so now waiting excitingly for the little one to arrive.
I've chosen to name it "Jadatzi" as it's an unusual name anyway.
I'm so excited now lol.
I'll let you know when Jadatzi has arrived.

Jadatzi the Jadatzi? C'mon, couldn't you think of something more original?! I kid! There's nothing wrong with the name.

It sounds common to us...but practically all of my friends can't pronounce it...although they all love him lol.
Jadatzi arrived yesterday and he is so cute!
I've put the 20p piece next to him so you can see just how tiny he is.
And this is his new home.
I am getting him a new friend tomorrow. This time an Achatina "Rodatzi" Fulica...I think you can guess what the name will be lol. I am so looking forward to watching and observing Jadatzi's reaction to Rodatzi lol.
I am perfectly fine with having to destroy the eggs, if and when they do happen. Although might give a couple out to a friend of mine as he loves snails as well lol.
I will use this thread as their own thread from now on, so I don't keep making new separate threads for the snails lol.

Well...Rodatzi arrived earlier this morning He's a lot smaller than Jadatzi is, but I think he will cope with it. Comparison sizing with Jadatzi Already started to munch on cucumber lol. Rodatzi does have a little chip at the opening of his shell...so will keep an eye on it though. But think it should be OK Mweekie xx

Aww, little cuties! I bought a normal, a white jade, and a jadatzi off her recently (two weeks ago or so), but she didn't have any rodatzi at the time, so I think the rodatzi must be very newly hatched!

Apologies for absence.
I'm on a course all week up until Friday...ugh!
Jadatzi and Rodatzi are both doing well. I see more of Rodatzi because he is normally seen scoffing his face, whereas Jadatzi prefers hiding under the sphagnum moss all the time, although I think she does come out at night time. They both come out when I give them a shower (using a water sprayer) and both enjoy that.
Food wise so far, they have had:
Cucumber - both liked this - only a small amount though and so far only given it once Apple - Rodatzi loved this Nectarine - Jadatzi loved this Banana - both liked this
Really want to get some sweet potato to try them on and also the rest of the foods on the safe list...I will get there slowly lol.

Hi there, Just wanted to update. Both snails are doing really well. They have been renamed to "JayJay" (Jadatzi) and "RoRo" (Rodatzi) as it's easier for my family and also for the St. John Ambulance Youth group I help to teach lol. The youngest group are aged between 7-10 and the older group are from 10-17. But the youngest group came up with the shorter names above - so I have kept the new names lol. They are at work with me today as well, although I take them home after the SJA session each week I even surprised one young lady with special needs today, as she wasn't expecting them to be in the car...she loved them Mweekie xx
