I have a concern regarding my garden snail's behavior and I couldn't find any info about it on the internet. (A little back story) I took in a garden snail almost a week ago and got him set up in a clear tub that we put small holes and a screen window. I have sticks, hiding pot, flowers and have been feeding him softened milk bone and other fruits and vegetables in it for him at all times. Also aways keep it wet in it.
The first few days we had him, he was very active and friendly. He ate well and let me hold him and he crawled all over me. Then these past few days he is extremely inactive and hasn't come out of his shell unless I pick him up or put food infront of him (he also hasn't been eating much at all). The behavior started around the time I took in 3 more small garden worms. I am worried that he is either unhappy or has something wrong with him. Is this normal? If anyone has any info, ID appreciate if. I am worrying about him.

Hey, how is your snail doing? Still being quiet? I have one garden snail that is also very inactive and usually sleeps most of the time in his cave. He's mostly out at night i noticed. Maybe yours is to? Sometimes when i wake up at night i see him sliding over the wall of my container so he does come out now and then.

If the snail doesn't act weak, have poor suction or muscle loss, then it may be temporary. Continue to monitor the snail's behaviour. I don't think earthworms usually bother snails, but do see if they poke into the snail's shell at times.

Earthworms don't otherwisely harm snails, but they've accidentally gotten inside snail lungs before, through the breathing hole. The reflexes of both of them prevent the worm from getting out until the snail faints. Maybe if you could take a non-heating lamp and try to confirm that this is not the case?
