Hi all, does anyone know a forum (US-american) where I can have my suggestions/hypotheses checked concerning some shells of terrestrial gastropods (snails) from south-east USA? Thanks for any kind of help , kind regards: wolf

The only major snail forum that has North American people regularly visit is this one. There are two things I can suggest for you:
1) Post pictures of the shells here and hope that an American malacologist will see it, and give you the information you need.
2) Directly reach out to malacologists from Georgia or Florida. If you cannot find a snail expert from those particular states, an American snail expert in general is also a good option. Probably much easier as opposed to specifically seeking one from Florida or Georgia.

Hi Cashell, thanks a lot for your help! It was no problem for me to get a lot of literature about south-east-Asian land snails, but it is a little bit more difficult to get information about North-American species, obviously. But there must be lots of papers, of course. Meanwhile I could gather some papers concerning this topic. Yes, I will post one species or another here in the forum, thanks for your hint and encouragement. And I will try to get in contact with a North-American malacologist. I've tried to contact COA (= Conchologists of America), but until now without success. Well, we'll see......... . Thanks and have a nice time: wolf
