I have 2 Giant African Land Snails that are 11 months old and they have never laid eggs. 2 of my friends also have snails from the same egg clusters in groups of 2 and 4 in appropriate sized tanks. However all those other snails are mating and laying eggs, however mine never have. They are well fed, kept moist and at a good temp, I have no idea as to why they aren't laying eggs. I'm not necessarily complaining about them not laying eggs but I am concerned there may be something wrong in my keeping them that is making them unhealthy. Thanks in advance

Hi donni, I wouldn't worry too much if your snails haven't laid eggs. As long as they seem healthy otherwise its not an issue and they'll very likely lay eggs eventually as your care sounds fine to me. Only thing I can possibly think might be an issue is if the substrate is too shallow to appropriately lay eggs- it should be the length of the snail's shells and then some. But I don't think either way would make a massive difference in whether they'd lay or not.

Though I am not an expert with this species, I might have heard once that they do not actually breed till they are at least 1-3 years old. If true, that could also explain why yours are not breeding.
