Its so cool being blonde - I read the last reply as gooner and wondered why a Scot would support Arsenal ;D
I think all parties concerned should put their keyboards down and take a break. Everyone has something to bring to the forum and each person lost is a bad thing

Hi Guys,
Well I've taken the advice of Copigeon and Tigs, and took a breather.
Rather a shocking day, don't you think. Perhaps if Brian had also heeded the advice, we wouldn't be one Moderator down.
Regarding his final post on my thread - yes it has been a lovely day in Coatbridge, and the sun is still spinning. And I wish Brian, and all other members a wonderful Easter.
As to agreeing to disagree, I think I took that position in the first place, when I didn't respond to his first unsolicited "advice". However, it is acknowledge by many other forums [and I hope by this one], that when another member repeatedly posts unsolicited, and argumentative posts on your thread - such conduct is called hi-jacking the thread, and is very much frowned upon.
I don't plan on re-iterating all that has already been said, but I simply want to point out that no member should have to take repeated public insults from any other member - and therefore has the right to reply. If denied that right to reply, the original member is subjected to bullying. I, therefore standby my right to reply to Brian's forceful and insulting remarks.
However, I would like other members to know, that despite Brian's behaviour towards me, I have never made a complaint about his conduct, or requested assistance in handling the situation, and his decision to leave the forum at this time was wholly his own decision.
I note his "goodbye post" was locked within roughly 30 mins of his posting it, and I though I have no idea how this came about, having read it, I am glad that decision was made. If Brian was "sick of fighting with people", all he had to do was stop posting in such a manner. As an adult, each should take responsibility for their own actions, and not try, even through innuendo, to blame another for situations and consequences which arise from those actions.
As far as I am concerned the matter is at rest, though the conclusion was rather shocking. After several very upsetting days, maybe now I can return to updating you all on Inspiration and Churchill, what the forum is about after all.
Sincerely Snakelady

Im affraid I need to say that the continued niggling at Brians behaviour whether you agree with it or not is not really needed snakelady. The man has left the building, for more reasons than just this disagreement. I think that is enough said and done.
I fail to see how and where Brian was blaming anyone for his actions? Nor that his actions should come with any sort of blame. He failed to understand your perception of a slug, and you both clashed.
I believe brian locked his own thread before leaving.
I can imagine how youre feeling, on the back foot because a very much appreciated moderator and long standing member has left on the back of this disagreement. Try not to feel defensive of it, as I have already said it takes more than one disagreement to make a person desire to quit a community, this was perhaps just the nail in an already closed coffin. But please do appreciate that continued "Brian bashing" after he has clearly left the disagreement is not appreciated.
This forum is more than just a book to note the experiences of snail keeping and its kin, it is, or was a thriving community. Its a shame alot of that feeling has been lost, perhaps if we can improve on the atmosphere of this forum we can try to regain some of that feeling, and some of our loved and lost members might reconsider thier vacation.

Have to agree with Em on this one (and Brian, but that's another matter).
There was no need for your last post Snakelady, and while I'd hate to see another member move on because of this - I must say that I think your attacks on him were unecessary.
Brian was not hijacking, nor posting to pee you off. He, I'm sure, was only posting with the slug's best interest at heart.
I dont think there's any need to continue to attack him after your posts have already made him leave, dont you think?
