Picked this little guy up at the pet store today(for free!),he's gorgeous! His name is Tigger for his stripes. Anyone know what he is? He's aquatic. I can't make a thread in the identification section(?!?!?!?!).

Hello, your snail is a Vittina coromandeliana, a Neritidae snail.
They can live in freshwater, but are actually from brackish swamps, and as a fact their larvae can develop only in saltwater, to return freshwaters later, when developmene as a crawling snail begins.
They need a''mature'' aquarium, as their preferred foods are encrusting algae on glasses, stones and Leaves; so a ''dirty'' aquarium is good for them, while a too clean tank could make them starve.

Thank you! I'll give him some water from my goldfish then, I need to do a water change anyway. Thank you!

You're welcome Please keep his tank in good light, so that required algae would build up an edible film quite soon; ''dirty'' water from your goldfish tank will speed up the process! In the meanwhile, besides some tiny bits of lettuce, or cucumber slices, you should provide some bits of vegetable tablets, the ones for bottom - fishes

Beautiful nerite! Good luck with him Most threads go in 'general' or 'problems' and are recatagorized and archived later by the mods to help with searching and such So you did the right thing asking for ID here!
