About a month ago, my little cousin and I found these little guys venturing across the driveway. It was very unusual, I have never seen snails in the area where I live. We thought they were really cute so we decided to keep them as pets. Here are some photos of the snails we found about four weeks ago. I know they are from the genus Triodopsis, but I have not determined the species yet. I have found it difficult to find much about the Triodopsis snails on the internet. We found eight that night. Three of them decided to be shy and not come out of their shell for pictures.
The little guy in the middle looks like he is posing for the camera. I included a photo of the one on the right in my very first post to the forum. He is darker in color compared to the other seven snails. I do not know if it is because he is a different species of Triodopsis than the others or if one species can vary in color.

They're lovely little snails. They do seem to pose for the camera.

Thank You Cliath.....I also found some Polygyra Cereolus snails that same night. I tried to get some pictures, but they are still very shy. Whenever I open their cage they mostly go back into their shells and all I can see is their eyeballs.

Ahh yeah. Snails are so adorable when they try to reach things much too far away, they just keep trying, poor guys!
Is that treasure chest from an aquarium decorating store? It's nice, what's it made of?

I checked the link. If it's ceramic, make sure the snails can't fall on it, as they could hurt themselves/their shells. I must get something nice like that for my snail tank too.

Cool snails. Their three "teeth" is definitely an interesting attribute about these species.

Cool snails. Their three "teeth" is definitely an interesting attribute about these species. Thank You....In fact, they look at lot like Iowa Pleistocene Land Snail...It is the "three tooth" feature of the Triodopisis that sets them apart.
