I found eggs in my A. fulica tank, and there were two snails present, Jupiter and Light. I observed both but couldn't tell who laid them. Light had the tip of his shell slightly buried, but Jupiter was above a part that had more eggs and there was something that looked like it could possibly be a tunnel behind her. See photo reenactment... I had moved them, but the next day, I saw that Light was back in that corner of the tank. I could see through the glass that his head was under the coir, about a cm away from the eggs. See photo reenactment - this is how his shell was positioned but his head was under like an ostrich does... Today I saw that the eggs had hatched. Light was in the same area yet again but sleeping, and there was another snail, Shirley, above the eggs. She seemed strangely alert and interested in something, even though no hatchlings were above-ground yet. See photo... I'm curious as to who the mother of these hatchlings is. Light, Jupiter, or Shirley? Any way to figure it out? It almost seemed like Light was returning to guard or brood/incubate his eggs. Do they do that?

Great photos. As far as I'm concerned, snails do not typically guard their eggs.
