Hi everyone, I'm posting this to announce something amazing: Rainbow has been carrying eggs for 2-3 weeks! I'm so proud of him! He has no problems at all and he laid the eggs yesterday. I've put them in a separate container. If you're wondering why he wouldn't have laid the eggs before, it's because my sister and I had a big fly problem. Their larvae would get inside the snails when they're aestivating and they'd have problems. To stop this, we've put some toilet paper instead of coco fiber and a tiny bit of moss in order to eradicate the flies. Since Rainbow was carrying eggs right before doing this, he had to keep them nice and warm in his body. Now, I was wondering: what should I give/do to Rainbow as a reward? I think some special food isn't original enough, I don't want to hurt him by rubbing his head (I'm letting my nails grow for my Halloween costume), he hates baths... What should I give/do to him? Thanks in advance for any ideas for Rainbow's reward! SOOOO PROUD OF HIM! Seastar

Congrats! You could make him a salad with apple bits and cuttlebone sprinkled over it. Not very original, but the cuttlebone would give him the calcium he needs after using so much for the eggs.

Maybe a slice of peach? That sounds pretty nice.

Or, inspired by Cashell, you could give him a bit of mango or some other juicy fruit!

Thanks everyone! I'll think about it and tell you what I'll do as soon as I've decided.

I finally took my decision!
Rainbow's gift will be some orange with either crushed eggshells or cuttlebone (which I don't have yet). I hope to buy some as soon as possible.
I'm going to post a picture of Rainbow taking the first bite (I personally think every snail should "celebrate" with Rainbow) as soon as I've given him the reward.

Here's the picture I promised! Unfortunately, he does not seem to like oranges a lot. Still, he took a bite!

Oranges are not really that good to feed to snails in general due to their acidity.

Banana might be a great choice. My snails love banana.
