Amongst the tigers piled in a basket was this little chap - no way a Tiger but i had to buy him cause he was sooooo cute. He looks like a margie, but his shell is mainly green!! Here's some piccies ....... What d'ya think of my Chubbs. Margie?? Sub-species?? Anjie,x.

Look at the skin though, it looks so rough it could be tiger skin!

Do you want me to sit in the corner and rust, or just fall apart where I'm standing?

hes lovely snail , it was surprising to see him there amongst the Tigers. I cleaned up the new tigers I got and the colours are beautiful. they really are very attractive snails, they also seem active and have all eaten. Seem to love their sweetcorn.

Get lost Ceiron - he's MINE!! rofl lol I'm still not convinced he's a normal margie you know. Something just isn't right. The body shouts 'margie' but the shell??? Hmmmm. Look at the texture of it..... What d'ya think? Anjie,x.

According to Bequaert though, margies and ventricosa share an almost identical shell shape.

I've decided - after dsuggestions from Nat and Arno - that i'm going to send some piccies off to the Natural History Museum for an ID on Chubbs. ;D Wish me luck rofl.

I have 3 margies, one looks different to the others, it has greenish bands running along it. Not like chubbs exactly but that hue certainly.

i dont think he is a margie
#1 the body whorl is too large #2 the shell colour deviates from any margie i have ever seen #3 there is faint striations on the shell which is uncharacteristic of margies #4 the purple columella
although the body colour is like a margie, Archachatina body colour does not vary greatly. I think it is either a sub-species or something completely different
kind regards
mike
