Exactly, if you don't need/want to use the site then don't, i've just ordered from there, i ahven't looked for these things in the shops, they may sell them in the petshop down the road from me, but i can't be arsed to go looking and as long as the price is right, which it is then i think it's really good, i don't care if they sell it for like 8p cheaper in the shops or something thats just pathetic and shops don't have to do postage so sure it may cost a little more, but if your a thick lazy arse like me then it's ideal ;D

I'm all three of what Daz said so the site is great for me ;D Lol. Nah I can be bothered, but what I can't be bothered with is the places not answering the phone or not checking stock for you or having a useless website so you get there and there's bugger all there for you!
Thinking about it again I don't think we do have a Wilkos near us. *Mumbles on* Lol sorry.
Anyway! Back to the shop! That's great Daz, so if I bought some could I email you the rough sizes I want or would I put it in the paypal note? Oh one more q lol (sorry) roughly how many pieces would 500g be? I'm talking pieces between 4 and 9 inches probably.

errr i am actually up north near hull and the wilkos up here is identical to the one down south, it stoocks most stuff you need and if it dont theres numerous other shops up here that do.
if peopel want to use your online shop then they will i am just suggesting cheaper alternatives, as far as i am aware this isnt a forum for your shop so i am just trying to save people money.
there is no alternative motive as you think, your a bit paranoid.
i am just showing people the alternatives, at the end of the day it doesnt bother me as it isnt my money being spent buit asi have to run a very tight budget i look for the best deals so i can provide optimum animal care.

Well thats very good of you , I'm sure everyone appreciates it.
Please don't try and be smart with me , don't try and make out that i think this forum is dedicated to 'my shop' .. again another sly and snide comment from you.
I really can't be bothered to answer you and that is why this reply is really half hearted , you carry on what you are doing and I'll just go about my business .. but please leave the crappy coments like you made in the last post somewhere else because none of us need that attitude.
I've remained nice and I shall continue to do so , I have nothing to prove here.
Many thanks
Darren

as i said all im doing is offering a cheaper alternative. Only you're not since all your suggested prices don't include postage. And wilkos don't sell many of the items such as ground seed or oyster shell. For items of significant weight, high-street stores will always out-compete any small online retailer for peacemeal items. To be honest I can't believe you are quibbling over a matter of pence. When you compare with other online shops the difference isn't large if there is a difference at all. If a few pence is significant to you, it makes me wonder how you can afford to keep pets at all. I'm not saying you shouldn't look for the cheapest source, I certainly do and there are items I'd never buy online because for me I can nip into town, but you simply cannot compare online shops and highstreet chains for items involving weight. I think Daz is upset not because you think it'd be better for people to buy certain items in town shops, but because your comments make it seem like the prices are hidden to unwit an unsuspecting customer. And that is rubbish as the reasoning behind the postage is clear.

i aint quibbling over a few pence, as i said vermiculite is like 4 quiid cheaper in b&q and ore in wilkos.
i know it doesnt have postage, but for me its only a short or walk to wilkos and alot of people prolly have to go into town or whatever anywya so it would make more sense to get that sort of stuff there.
yes there ssome stuff yo ucant buy and he offers that, which is cool and if you cant get hold of it anywhere else easily then his shops a good idea.
and yush a few pence significant to me, i cana fford to keep pets thansk to the me making a few pence significant.
every penny counts and it does with me, i have to stirctly budget everything and so a few pence ehre and there makes a lot of diference esp when you think for liek 20p yo ucan get some fruit or veg etc ..
im not trying to say his prices are there to unwit as he hs explained why they are as such.
but theres stil lcheaper alternatives to soem of his products.

I agree, and you are right, it makes no sense to buy certain items online period because of the postage thing, if you can get into town and buy them, as me and you have that luxury.
But many people don't or can't be arsed.

Daz - being both lazy and disabled, I think your site is fab. And I'm not saying that for a freebie *pmsl* cos you've both been fab with advice for my little dimis. Ceiron - I dont understand the animosity - not everyone lives in your area and therefore has easy access to everything they'll ever need. For me personally, we dont have Wilkos in Keighley - our B&Q is nigh on inaccessable for me too as it's out of town in the industrial park, we have Focus Do it All who dont even stock compost regularly, let alone vermiculite, or the reptile shop who have promised to get things in for us in the past, and never actually done it. So for someone who cant walk unaided, doesn't drive, and only has her pc and Paypal account - I think it's a real godsend. When I get my Brixtons (if/when should I say), I can get substrate, snail mix, pumpkin seeds and stock up on other things - all in one place without having to get a babysitter for the triplets, get someone to come with me, get a taxi and pay a fortune to get to somewhere...etc etc etc. And even if I could do that - which chain do you know that stocks all that in one place? I'd have to go to B&Q, the reptile place, probably over to Pets at Home in Bradford, then find a health food shop who sells the rest. And I dont know any shop who does snail mix Oooh heck, I wittered on again. Sorry!

Ok I am only going to post this once as the partner of a guy I have seen put hours and hours and tons of phone calls into negotiating the best prices for his business venture..not only the best prices but he feels strongly about buying british stuff..take for example the coir bricks he did research into them and it was discovered that the cheaper ones made in India or Sri Lanka are treated with sea water and yes you could buy these at Wilkos or where ever but at what cost to the snail or whatever animal you are using them on.. he got in contact with a company based in England who make them and he is going to supply them to Daz direct..so the next lot he gets in will be a lot cheaper and we know that they will be top stuff..he hopes that whatever you buy off him you will trust his integrity to get the best stuff for your pets at the best prices that he can get..and he has asked permission to put his shop details on the forum..Linda

Thanks everyone. Everything is cool now , I was taking it personally and Ceiron really just worded one of his posts wrong and then we just went round in circles really ..... so no hard feelings against Ceiron , it was a silly situation that i should have really PMed him about when I thought he was insinuating that I was trying to rip folk off .... so yeah it's all sorted now and everyone is happy Daz

Hi Sarah
Glad it arrived , no probs on the Cuttlefish ... thought you may find it useful.
What sort of hole was it? That sounds an utterly gay question but what I mean is where about on the bag and could it have been caused by something else in the box? I double checked everything to ensure that kind of thing doesn't happen , I'm renown for good packaging so I'm baffled .... oh well had to happen sometime.
Did you lose any?
Anyway thanks for your custom sarah , much appreciated and I hope to see you back again.
Cheers
Daz
