Are you sure completely leathal? Im sure the old bark chippings we used to use with the fulica when we were kids were pine. Wasnt the substrate that killed them.
Otherwise, if you fancy branching out into living phasmid foods, pine retains moisture well, can be used to top guava pots, mango, etc. Stick insect foodplants in general.
Generally its a ground mulch though.

pine contains a toxic phenol, that is lethal, highly lethal in prolongued and even jsut small amounts over time, esp in reptiles and small aniamls, i cant be certain of the exposure on injsects but i know phenols on the whole arent good for them
you get them in pine disenfectant and i nair freshners and deodrnt etc ...

Daz, I was wondering. Someone in another thread was talking about using oyster shells as bowls. Can you get the shells in whole?

Hi all
Just a quick note to all , delivery of orders next week may be slightly delayed due to me doing myself an injury which has resulting in me only having around 20% mobility in my left arm , orders will still go out but obviously packing them etc is going to take me longer .... so please bare that in mind.
Thanks everyone
Daz

@ Linda - Thanks chick , you are always so understanding Moracai - I have thought about that , I can get them whole but by the time I have cleaned them up etc it would probably work out too dear to most people to buy. leia - did your order arrive this time and was it all okay? Cheers Daz
