Isn't radish a type of onion?

Isn't radish a type of onion? Onion is more related to leek and such I think. If radish is a good food for snails, it would be a nice food to grow for them. Perhaps even in their tank radish grows very fast!

Isn't radish a type of onion? No. Radish is not in any way related to onion. They are part of the Brassicaceae family which includes broccoli, cauliflower, kale, cabbage, turnip, etc.

Advice from me would be to not feed them (cooked) cauliflower. My snails loved it, but my tank has been smelling horrible for days ;-;

I made a mix for my snails out of oats, grapes and carrots with a pinch of betta fish food, then I smashed it with a fork and added water. Looks good, but nobody's eaten it yet.

dinowcookie and I gave our snails brussel sprouts with no troubles afterwards btw!
I also tried chestnuts, even though they wouldn't eat it naturally because of the layers around it. My snails do seem to enjoy it. Gave it cooked and sliced in half so they can get to the chestnut flesh itself, can be used as a porridge base or make a small porridge as back up as it can dry out! Cook as you would cook it to eat it yourself, so a nice snack along for yourself!
After 3 days no negative effect.

Hiya!
I have a question for you, for me to take some answers into consideration. What food do you feed your GALS? I am very interested to see what others feed them!
I feed mine things like: Cuttlefish - not as a main food, just as something always in their tank Red Peppers - mine love it Grated Carrots (Carrot peelings) - my babies love grated carrots Cucumber - easy and quick to prepare, they eat it all too - I just cut it across the cucumber, so its a circle Lettuce - simple Mixed Greens - haven't fed them this in a long time Apple - mine eat apple but it goes rotten quickly which is why I don't give them it much
I have tried beetroot, but they didn't eat it, I put one where I cut it in half so they can get in the middle and a whole one, they ate neither.

I think beetroot may be too acidic for the snails.
I feed Max mainly Peppers Mushrooms Sweet Peppers Sweet potato mashed up Strawberries Grapes Occasionally some spinach (too much is bad for shell development) And mixed greens from time to time
I've just given him cucumber last night and he loved it. Though he won't have it all the time it will make a nice treat.
I find Max doesn't eat a lot of food so I only give him little bits otherwise it goes to waste.

Mike My snails (any species I've had) have never eaten beets, which is funny, because I quite like beets. I have, however, recently discovered that they will eat watercress and arugula, so that's a bit more of something to try!

Does courgette have the same (lack of) nutrients as cucumber?
My GAL loves both but I can't give lots of cucucumber because it lacks nutrients but I'm wondering if courgette is the same.

Courgette is more nutritious than cucumber - it provides much more vitamin C and vitamin B6, as well as more potassium and iron.

I have heard that tomato is not really good for them, as it is acidic. Also one girl told me (on a snails FB group) that kale should be given with caution, because it doesn't allow snails to retain the calcium. I'm not sure if this is true.

Yesterday I gave my snails avocado (they loved it by the way), but then I read it was harmful for them. They have already eaten it, I hope it doesn't affect their health

I know spinach can inhibit calcium intake. I know curly kale is a good source of calcium. Maybe she was getting those 2 mixed up?

Tomato is ok for snails. Just don't give them some 7 days a week! I don't know about avocado, I've never fed it to my snails. Just keep an eye on your snails for the next few days, and if you see anything suspicious, don't hesitate to ask for help! And one last thing: never, EVER feed potato chips to your snails! (I'm pretty sure nobody on this forum is crazy enough to do this )

I've been feeding my grove snails with frozen blood worms every once in a while since my Betta is too small to eat an entire cube and since my mystery snails love it so much. I toss about half a cube in there once a week or so. The other half gets split in half and divided between my betta tank and my shrimp tank, which both have mystery snails.
Gosh they go crazy. I figure it's healthy enough for them.

I know, he does get rocket aswell, but he prefers a good munch on the iceburg I like to think of lettuce and cuke as "source of water only, so what will I feed today as real Food?"

I have seven bulimulus that I have had for about a week and they have all liked different things. But one thing they all seemed to enjoy was sweet corn. I like using corn because it last longer than lettuce and fruits.

Are there any foods other than fruit and vegetables you can feed snails as a main part of their diet?
