Would you be able to get a couple more pictures from different angles? To make it easier to tell the shape of the shell!

That's really awful, would you mind sending me the link? I'll stop it playing the second it opens... I would hate to see that. But I'm going to report it myself one way or another, and hopefully some others will too.

Hmmm... maybe they were infertile and broke down? 4 days seems a bit fast though... What else was in there? Like soil and things? A lot of my baby Cepaea died because I put them in an old container that used to have garlic snails in, and a few eggs had been hidden in the soil and when they hatched the babies went on a baby snail muching conquest... I heard that they will eat snail eggs as well, so there might be one of those or some other bug in there that eats eggs! This is likely if either the soil or any moss/plants have been picked from outside.

Ooh they are pretty! Think they are Oxychilus though, unless Canadian Discus snails are darker and shinier than our UK ones! Very lovely though!

Imagined- Maybe you could keep the babies for a little longer until the next lot arrives, then you can see for yourself if they lay eggs or not, then when selling the first lot of babies you can just sell them for a little more, I think people prefer to buy slightly larger snails anyway- or at least they'll pay more for them.

Thanks a lot! I think late July/early August will be perfect for these guys, after a rainy day! I'll be sad to see them go... over 100 Cepaea already hatched and a few more clutches to go, a clutch of aspersa and a clutch of Monocha cantiana still waiting to hatch, I've really got my hands full! Even after releasing about 20 Garlic snails juves and babies!

I'm in the process of creating my own website about snails. -I know I started this ages ago but it's only just nearing completion. D: What I'm after is pictures of pet snails, wild snails and tank set ups for my gallery. I'd really appreciate it if people could message me giving me permission to use their photos and then a link to the page with them on. Anyone who helps will of course be credited! I wish I could offer something more...

Luna looks like a Kentish snail to me- Monacha cantiana. And yes Vallery, You'll find them in rotting wood, tucked up in moss that grows on the floor in woods and hiding under rocks on mud

I quite like mini snails like Discus rotundatus, I started off with 3 of them in January or February and now I have absolutely loads of teeny tiny babies! even though they only lay one or two eggs at a time, they do it often in the right environment, they'll probably make you even more mini snail pets in no time!

Wow what a cute bunch! I don't love slugs as much as snails, but that is one beautiful slug you have there. You've taken some really good pictures, too.

Oh wow, what kind of habitat did you find them in? I've been looking everywhere for some, I'm not too sure about their care either, but aren't they quite fond of water?

Maybe if you put any old fly strips on, but put them on the outside, of the tank. That way the flies won't be able to get in to the tank, and any that get out should get caught too. And you don't have to worry much about them being snail safe, just don't touch the strips before touching the snails or let them climb out on to it

They all seem to like the fish flakes, but they still want to munch the other snails. It's strange that my other two that were also wild caught never bothered the other snails. There are some babies recently hatched from eggs of the previous two, I hope they don't go cannibal too! I've got them in a separate tub now, I think I'll release them, thanks guys

Well my Cepaea have been pretty busy, and I've got well over 100 babies to release. When do you guys think is the best age for them to be released at? Also what month is best in the UK? Thanks

Was it definitely eating him? I've seen my snails get quite rough with biting when they are courting. Is your fulica injured at all? I hope he's okay. I have no idea why this would happen, the only snails that have eaten my other snails are Oxychilus, but they have a reputation for being carnivorous. :S

I've kept a pair of Oxychilus (probably cellarius) in a tank with other snails before, and provided with fish flakes as well as veggies, they never touch any of the other snails. Recently there were 3 slightly darker smaller (probably juvenile) glass snails in the moss that I brought back, I decided to let them live with my smaller snails. I've never seen them eat any veggies, but I assumed they were eating when I wasn't looking. It turns out they were eating... The other snails! Is it likely that they are completely carnivorous? If so, is there anything I could feed them so I could keep them in a separate tank? Or will I have to let them go? I feel so guilty for the snails that got munched

The snail was probably exhausted, I hope it feels better soon!

I go invisible because I often nip on for a quick read, but I like to wait until I have the time to sit down and concentrate before I reply to any messages, I wouldn't like for someone to see me online and think that I'm ignoring them!
