yeah they jadatzi, i bought 2 of these from this seller a week ago, snails were deeply retracted and shells very brittle and broken, luckily I got them in time to save them and they are on the road to recovery and have started looking like they should have done on arrival, but wouldnt recommend this seller as the retics I bought from him were in a sorry state also.. But you may have more luck than with his snails than me as I may have just got sent the ones he was desperate to get rid of? be wary, but I hope you have better luck if you do buy from him!

This really doesnt sit well with me. For a start it will encourage people to breed snails on mass and hatch out every egg they can in the hope of making some cash. This is not something you should encourage when there are endless ad listings on ebay, forums, and second hand sites for snails already and sadly most will never get bought leaving the sells over run and and doing everything they can, i.e selling snails for 10p each just to get rid of them! its cruel!!! They are animals, pets, NOT STOCK to be traded round, not looked after correctly, and eventually maybe be sold to someone that was given no proper information, pictures of the actual parents, no way of knowing whether the snails they're getting or closely related or not, or anything! People like knowing where their pets have come from and you just seem to be starting an online petshop (which is something that any responsible pet owner avoids like the plague!), all decent pet owners buy directly from breeders whenever possible. And so you dealing them out like penny sweets that you've collected from god-knows where, is only going to attract people that want 'deals' and for the things they buy to be dead cheap rather than healthy. I'm sorry this has turned into a rant, but this does not sit well with me at all! We've seen what this for-profit-attitude did to rodents, cats, dogs and fish! and god knows what other pets that are now inbred, with bad owners, or homeless because people just wanted to make a quick quid!!! I used to breed predigree rats, to help fight against the terrible health of the ones you find in pet shops today, and I would give the pups away only to people I questioned thouroughly to make sure they knew exactly how to look after the pets I was entrusting them with and that signed a contract to say they would not breed or rehome them without my permission. And I only sell my snails to people who I know will look after them properly. And once again, sorry to rant on! But the only people who will buy from you will be people that most likely shouldn't be allowed pets in the first place, and the only people who will supply to you probably shouldn't be allowed to have pets, and I dont think you should be allowed pets either as you are so keen to turn them into the next money-hunting scheme instead of actually putting in the time, effort and money to breed and raise them properly yourself and make sure they are all top quality and heathly animals, not just a quick £50!! And what happens when you cant sell all these snails and slugs? what happens to the poor things then? I guess they get posted back to the poor breeder or something?! I'm sorry, I just can't believe that this is in any way, shape or form a good thing to do or encourage. Now I'm not gonna say anymore on the subject as I'll probably get myself banned or something for caring too much about animals welfare haha!

no, I'm laying it on its side, so the front, back and sides will all be plastic. The only part being left as mesh will be the roof, and the mesh is so fine even hatchlings couldn't escape, so think it will be ok... Just the stupid door thats doing my head in! Thinking of ordering some velcro and trying to get it to over lap the corners of the door, so will help secure them..? other than that I'm lost for ideas haha!

I have a 'bug xl cage' which is made my Small Life Supplies and is actually for stick insects, however it is currently not in use and as it is still in good condition (and because I stupidly paid about £130 for it ) I dont want to just throw it out, and wouldnt get my money back if sold it on so would like to reuse it somehow. And I was wondering that if I layed it on its side, it might make a good tank for a couple of my snails! ;D However there is a problem... The door is kept shut by a lock, and I think a snail could easily open it from the inside by accident or push through the corners of the door and possibly get out... So I was wondering if there was anything I could do to secure the door a bit more or anything? heres a link so you can see a pic of a smaller version of the cage which they call a 'UBC insect cage': www.small-life.co.uk/page4.htmlas you can see, the lock is kinda pathetic and its not locked all way round like tubs, and am worried it wouldnt be safe enough, so any help would be appriciated!!! Thanks

What I meant was that I'd never heard of it being a different snail before. Thought it was just a dragged out way of saying Jadatzi, which I guess it is in a way after seeing the previous comments haha! Jadatzi will always mean full albino to me, my small brain cannot process them being called anything different based on how they were bred or whatever, much to complicated for me lol But for me, and my limited knowledge of snails, Ness' last comment seems to make the most sense to me, and is something even I can comprehend!

It's defo very strange, never seen anything like it before! the parents in the pic to have the same kind of pattern on them though? its just so weird, I would've put money on the babies being retics, but the parents (despite slight patten on tip of shell and slight texture) do seem to be fulica.. I just dont get it!! I've bought a couple anyway as they are beauties! but would be nice to know exactly what they are for the silly little records I keep hehe! so if anyone could help with that I'd be so greatful!!

To me, Rodatzi is albino shell with normal flesh, and Jadatzi is the abino shell with albino flesh. never heard of Jadatzi being called Achatina fulica hamillei f.rodatzi 'Albino body' before!

as for the lid, on ebay you can buy clear seal lids for the clear seal tanks, was going to do the same myself.
as for other animals in the tank, I keep tiger worms in mine, and never have to do any clean outs, I would highly recommend them.

I've tried Zoocenter, bugs2go, brostol inverts, mostly molluscs, every forum I could think of, ebay, the lot. Everyone has tones of albinos but there's not a normal to be found anywhere! Theres a thread on here for Fulica babies but I think they're normal retics, I messaged the seller and asked her if i could see a pic of the parents, but she hasnt been online since Just so desperate to get hold of a couple and they're just no where to be found, not even adults are for sale, it's only ever albinos

I want to know what the difference is between normal Fulica and fulica Hamilei is exactly? and what makes Achatina Fulica Hamilei var. Rodatzi and Achatina Fulica Hamilei var. Rodatzi albino body different from normal Rodatzi and Jadatzi Fulica's? What does the Fulica snail need to look like in order to make it a Hamilei? Why can you have normal, Rodatzi and Jadatzi snails and also a Hamilei variant of them? Sorry if I'm not getting my question across right!

What exactly is a Fulica Hamilei Rodatzi? I have Fulica normal and Rodatzi, and it looks nothing like either of them... Is Fulica Hamilei Rodatzi a cross between the 2, or another type of Fulica altogether? Any info on them would be very much appreciated as I absolutely LOVE Fulica's and want to own all the different types! Haha! ;D Thanks, Caz

I had 2, one I can't remember too much, but in the second one I 'woke up' and went into the front room to find snails EVERYWHERE, they'd had a MASSIVE population boom over night and they were all over the house!!! Then I went back into the bedroom and noticed it was alive with spiders (I suffer VERY badly from arachnophobia), so I was having a panic attack when all of a sudden the millions of snails From the frontroom charges in (moving much faster than a snail should!) and starts attacking the spiders and driving them away!! But that was more a nightmare than dream haha! Though my snails did save the day! ;D
