Due to the shell being covered by skin, I'd guess at Ratnadvipia Irradians?

They aren't Tiger eggs are those are quite big, so if you say they are smaller than your Retic's eggs, then that means your Fulica must have laid them.
In terms of whether they are fertile or not, I'd assume they were.

In regards to tiger worms, there are about 26 UK species, most quite hard to ID, however Tigers are quite easy to ID due to their stripes. I normally buy like 200 of eBay, but you could try a fishing shop for a smaller amount as Tigers are often used as bait.

You could try adding just a couple at first and see how they go, that way if they did die it wouldn't be such a disaster? I don't use a food dish, I find it much more natural to have the food on the floor, though I did have a dish in one of my snail tanks, and the worms would climb into the dish and eat the food from it, I'd pick it up and there'd be like 30 worms under it and about 50 inside it lol so I just place food on the floor now Your tank size will be fine for worms, and you'd defo be able to add more snails as poo really shouldn't be a worry anymore, I used to keep cepaea and for a few weeks I had to have about 50 adults in one of the 21liter tanks because it was too cold too release some of them, so while I waited for the weather to pick up again I added 25 worms and never saw a single poop on the soil so that was a real life-saver! Couldn't live without my little ecosystems now! I defo wouldn't have been able to have all the tanks I have now, I'd have had to stick to just the one tank if I had to keep replacing the soil and doing so much cleaning, it would have taken me all day to do all my tanks and cost me a fortune in soil

I agree Starcrazy, that's the very reason I don't buy from places like petshops and markets, by saving one, you are causing the suffering of others. Once they're stock is sold, they'll simply get more because they know people will by them. so by buying snails from these people you are just convincing them they should get more...

I've got 10 large tanks which together must hold easily 1000+ worms which I've been breeding for 2 years now, and never had any problems. When you add worms, your tank becomes self-cleaning, so when a worm dies it just becomes food, I've never seen any dead worms in my tanks at all and I've never had any bad smells come from any of my tanks. The only time I ever had dead worms and smell was even I ordered some from Ebay and they arrived dead. They get enough food, even when kept with something small like Helix snails, I feed my GALS and garden snails once every 4-7 days depending on how much I put in the tank, I put a good amount in, and whatever the snails dont eat will be eaten by the worms, and whatever is eaten by the snails will also eventually get eaten by the worms too haha Food isn't in my tanks long enough to go moldy, it always gets eaten completely and rather quickly. But if you do have left over food, I would simply say leave it in the tank and check on it until you feel it needs to be removed. For any tank I always start of with between 10-50 worms. They are very clever little things and don't over populate, but rather just breed until they are the right number for the tank so you normally only need a small amount to get started. Oh and I also have a couple baby tanks which are about 21L, and the worms in them are doing great, so 10gallons would be ok

They're the best 'tool' I've ever bought for my snail tanks! They eat all the poop and left over food which means I almost never need to change the soil They're the best worms to use for snails because they can cope with higher temps better than other types, they're also the best composting worms so they're great for warm snail tanks, I keep a good supply of them so my tanks are kept perfectly clean and never smelly and all I ever have to do is give the sides a wipe down, they're amazing, saved loads of money on new soil!

There's 3 tools that I use: spray bottle, cloth for cleaning the sides of my tanks, and the best 'tool' of all - my tiger worms!

I couldn't do that with my stack at the moment as I then wouldn't have room to get to my guinea pig cage, but I'm hoping to be swapping a sofa for a sideboard after christmas so I can lay my snail tanks out on it, so that may be a good idea to try then!!

Sounds like a good set up there!
For my smaller tanks I'll have to stick to mats as even 3 meters would be too long, but might try them in my larger tanks! What size did you buy for your tank?

I was looking at getting them if my mat doesn't work, but could only find long lengths that would cover the whole tank rather than just half.. what is the shortest length you've come across? x

I think I'll need 15 tanks, probably between 2ft and 4ft long.. And theres no way I could fit all those in, so tubs are defo better for me as I can stack them! My partner's mother is very house-proud and has an extreme case of OCD, so he came from a house that didn't so much as have a speck of dirt anywhere! And he's now having to put up with things like guinea pigs, ferrets, 70 rats, mice, hamsters, stick insects, slugs, snails, aquatic snails and frogs, and of worst of all, smelly little kiddies haha, so if the only condition is that I keep them all clean and looking as tidy as I can just in case his mum pops over then I think I've got off lightly lol! Will defo be posting pics and letting everyone know how I got on with it! Thanks!

hahaha! That must really be a sight!
I've put a couple of different sized flower pots in my ovum tank, and one of them took a fancy to the smallest pot, but now he's so big he was pretty much wedged inside yesterday! I've cut some of the side off and laid it back in so he can fit in it for a little while longer, but think I'm going to have to slowly start buying larger pots and then secretly replacing them when he outgrows them lol

I think babies are super cute, but I prefer large adults. And so I always buy the super cute babies and then enjoy watching them become large adults ;D

The trouble is I'm already doing everything you just listed, as most of my collection are margies and tigers I have to prioritise all but but one tank. I've already sellotaped the mats, used foil and polystyrene, used bubblewrap on the lids, with thick polystyrene under my stack of tanks too, and I've moved them to the warmest part of the house, and the mats are aligned. I cant afford to have glass tanks, as would cost me easily £200+ even buying the cheapest ones. I have no where to keep so many large tanks so would mean losing a mass of my collection. And I find glass tanks to always be very unsightly unless a fortune is spent doing them up, and would be a much bigger eyesore than what I have already and I think my partner would simply refuse to have them in the house as he hates snails and mud, and with glass tanks he would see many snails, much mud and probably my tiger worms too, and he would go mad at me lol! I've bought the tub, plus my own drill, stocked up on foil, polystrene, capillary matting, and bought it a hygro-temp guage, but run out of funds for the actual mat lol. But hoping it will work! The reason I think this may be my only option, is because plastic doesn't conduct heat very well, if I'm using a mat on the outside I wont be able to get heat it through it, but if I use the mat on the inside, the heat wont be able to escape either.. so I'm going to experiment with how much matting to use to keep the substrate safe, and warmer substrate will result in higher humidity, and I'll play around with the amount of air vents the tank needs and see if I can find a way of safely and effectively heating a storage box, and if I can't heat safely with mat inside, I'm hoping the fact that the mats higher wattage might mean it has a better chance of heating from the outside too, so will keep trying with this test tank until I either get it right or have nothing else left to try!
