Oh I have never tried potatoes. I think I would like to next year. I've tried tomatoes only the squirrels tend to run off with them as soon as they are a certain size and when they are green. I have a lily in my window sill indoors it has grown for two years very high and long and stringy but blooms big beautiful flowers. So far the sage and thyme I have brought in are doing fine.
I repotted one of my big leaf indoor house plants though and it is just wilting. No Idea why, I think I am going to loose it, and it is such a beautiful large plant. I wonder if repotting it caused it to go into shock or something. It is such a shame. Does anyone have any Idea about this sort of problem.?I hate to loose it.

Those photos are amazing tsrebel. One thing I noticed about my P. Isabella babies is that they seem to remain underneath the bark that I lay over the egg pots for a long time before the start roaming around the tank (they stick to the bottom of the bark). So I have been making sure I put a tiny bit of food and cuttlefish bone with them while they are staying under there. Presently I have three batches of eggs only two have hatched so far though.

What about the different types of lettuce.
I feed all of my species green leaf lettuce or red fringed green leaf lettuce and they love it. Even my slug species.
I think I remember reading somewhere that Iceburg lettuce and Romaine lettuce where not good for snails so I haven't given it to them. Has anyone tried these?
Also other green leaf veggies, with mine, not one species will eat spinach not even my different slug species they won't touch it. Anyone else have this experience with spinach? Does anyone know why they will not touch spinach?

Hi planetrescue1 , Could you please give more information on your Slitherville Snail Sanctuary Awareness Team. Where is it located. What type of work is done (in detail). How members on this forum can help. Why you choose those specific questions for the poll you placed on here. And whatever else you can tell us about your cause. Thank You

I Morningcoffee , Thank you for your reply. I know it wouldn't be impossible to update and continue to update the petsnails website, but it can't be done since Paul has no time and Mods can't do it. As I just posted to tsrebel there are two threads in suggestions and improvements 1. Options to Donate to forum for more Space and 2. Fundraising Ideas for more space. Paul had left a post on one of them about the problem with cost for more space and even adding more would not last long. Adding more cost. So that is two of the problems. The other is he mentioned people may have deleted there photos only I haven't and where photos are missing that I and some others have posted them there is now an x since the format change and if you click on the x it says "'this forum has exceeded it's forum attachment Space.". The two threads in Suggestions and improvements have gone no where. Even with more space thre is still the problem for those of us that can't figure out how to post pictures now. tsrebels Idea of a community photo sharing site sounds good if It could be a private site for our forum members only. I just don't know about the cost and about those of us that don't have credit cards or know how to use paypal and like me are terrible on the computer. Also for the petsnails web site I thought it would be an idea if members could contribute to it after having what they wanted on there approved. Only then there is still the cost problem as Paul mentioned and also the different way now how pictures can be posted, which for the life of me I can not figure out, and embarrassed to say I am not good on the computer at all. There is a way that you can have a private FB page that is not public and only our members could have the password to add photos and there would be no cost. But I guess that isn't something that others think would work. I left a post for tsrebels Idea just before I posted this too you if you could please look it over. Thank You again vallery

Maybe fb isn't the best solution then. How about flickr or other photo sharing community? Then the pictures could be linked onto this forum as well (I don't think that's possible with fb). I also think that if it's impossible to improve/update the main website we could make a new one. Maybe blog based. But we should clear it with the owner first (especially since it would be nice to use the info already out there, and the site name). Hi tsrebel , Does it cost to have flickr or other photo sharing communities ? I myself don't have a credit card and maybe others on here don't either. And could this photo community be private just for us members on here? I don't know much about these things. I actually tried photo bucket once and couldn't figure it out and you only get so much space then you have to pay. So then the problem of having a credit card or using paypal (which I can't figure out either) comes into play. I am embarrassed to say I am not good with computers. In suggestion and improvements there are two threads : 1. Options to Donate to forum for more space and 2. Fund raising Ideas for more space. As in one post Paul has explained the problem of the cost of more space. As well suggested perhaps the missing photos were deleted by those who posted but I haven't deleted any of mine they just stopped showing when the format was changed and there is a x where the photo is if you click on the x it says "this forum has exceeded it's attachment space". I like you Idea of a shared photo community if it was a private one for just us members if there is a way people could pay there share by Money order or certified check that can't pay otherwise. Thank you so much tsrebel for your help and Ideas with this. vallery

Hi feelahthetigress , I think I may have a neighbour I can get some clippings from, thanks for the idea. I will definitely try Chives, love them. Does the Chocolate mint actually taste like chocolate? I have only grown regular mint in my yard and basically left it neglected and it grew and spread but I haven't brought any inside. I actually had a clay pot of Swiss Chard growing on my deck that was dying right down from the cold so I brought it in and put it by the window with my house plants and surprisingly It is growing really well. I didn't think it would survive. I will definitely look out for nasty aphids. Lucky it was only your basil. Once I followed instructions, I still have the instructions if you would like them, (I plan to try again) to grow a mango tree, I had it in my south facing window which is the only window in my flat where I can grow any plants (looks like a mini jungle) I managed to germinate it and grow it to a height of 2 feet, it was beautiful the leaves are a deep red at first before they turn green, but the cat knocked it off the stand it was on and it died right after that, of shock I suppose because it didn't break. I have added a shelf by the window which is empty right now so that is where I plan to try my hand at growing some herbs. Thanks again for your help. I am excited about an indoor herb garden. vallery

Hi giesjl , Sorry to hear that it looks like you will have to leave your snails on their own when you go on holiday since you don't have anyone to care for them and can't take them with you. So I was wondering if after your holiday you could let us all now what you did and how it worked out, it would be very helpful for other members that find themselves in this same difficult situation. Thanks vallery

Lol I don't have Facebook, but I could still visit the group pages to have a look though. Hi Cashell , The FB page I was trying to explain would be a private page and not public and only the members on this forum that would want to post or view photo albums on the page could. It would just be one page that you could go to and see other members photos and add albums of your own. And only the ones that want to do this would have the password so you wouldn't need face book personally just the page name and password so you could go on the private page and post albums of your snails and view other members albums. We would still use our snail forum names so we would know whose album is whose. Aside from me I know a lot of us don't know how to post photos on here anymore and can't figure out how plus a lot of the photos are gone since the format change plus there is the cost of band width to the forum. I was just thinking a page like this to post albums would be fun. Not a page for information that is what the forum is for and those who still want to post thier photos to both the Face Book page and the forum could. It wouldn't be public only for members on here. And it is very easy to post pictures on Face Book. Thanks for your support on this Cashell vallery

I would probably not use a group like that. There are already a lot of snail groups on fb and I don't see how this idea would be different (please, prove me wrong!). I think that if anyone like to make an effort for the community, it would be better to work on the website petsnails (needs to be sorted with the owner, I've no idea who) with updates, added species etc. Hi tsrebel , I agree about an effort being made for the community by working on the website petsnails I did make suggestions but was told that it wasn't possible. So it doesn't seem like getting the website updated and continuing to have it updated is going to happen. I guess what I was really trying to suggest was a private FB page only for the members on here that would like to be part of it so we could add photo albums of our snails not a bunch of information and not a public page. A lot of us don't know how to post photos on here anymore and a lot of the photos are gone plus there is the band width cost to the forum. It would only be something that forum members would have the pass word too and make photo albums of their snails, just something we could have popped into now and then to check out each others photo albums. I know there are a lot of FB snail pages but the one I was thinking of would be a private one just for us. It was just an idea, thought it might be fun

Hi feelahthetigress , Thank you so much for all of that information. You have inspired me to start growing herbs in my apartment and I want to try more then just the Thyme and Sage that I brought in from the garden.. I do have a very large south facing window where I have house plants but I have never tried growing herbs indoors. I will let you know how it turns out for me. Thank You again . You have been so helpful vallery

Yes I guess your right . I was just thinking it would be a page locked from the public and only for members on this forum that would like to be a part of the page that would like to post albums of their snails. Since a lot of us can't figure out how to post photos now and a lot of the photos on the forum are now gone plus band width cost of adding more photos to the forum. I wasn't thinking how it might split the forum into face book. I know there are a lot of FB pages on snails but I was thinking more of a private one for whoever wants to post an album from this forum, members only not posting info or anything like the forum just photo albums and the species name or pets name each photo of the snail photo they have posted in their album. So who ever would like to put on a photo album could and the rest of us members could just pop in and view the photo albums. Nothing more than that.
